Vigil

We have been on an action-packed schedule over the past two days. In addition to daily Mass in different churches across the city, we got to know our Spanish hosts by spending a wonderful day at a large outdoor pool.

We shared many meals together, not just with our host families, but also with all the families of our host Parish and with other pilgrims, (some from Liverpool, lots from Italy, and a couple from Venezuela).

We toured museums and churches. This is a photo from the museum of Don Quixote.

The following pictures are some of the highlights from the places we visited:

We wrapped things up with a memorable Vigil. The Adoration was in the Taize style, (powerful repetitive chants), with lots of candles inside a centuries-old church. ... The church darkened and slowly, red candles were lit along the main aisle. Flags of the representative countries were brought forward, as were candles that were placed around the altar for the Adoration. The chant ebbed and the Eucharist was revealed. It was powerful.

Blessings a todas.
